We managed to grab 5 minutes with our Global Head of Marketing, Monika Heusel, who has just returned from the Tekom Annual Conference in Stuttgart where EVS Translations was exhibiting.

She tells us about the event and also reveals a few things about what’s on the agenda for EVS Translations over the coming months…

1. What was EVS Translations able to offer visitors to the Tekom Annual Conference?

Firstly, a big surprise: we differ from other translation companies—we have translators. Our unique in-house structure comprises of in-house translator teams at all of our global offices, as well as project managers and IT staff. Rather than relying on outsourced expertise, we can manage everything in-house to achieve the best outcome on a project.

We met with a lot of people who were interested to hear more about how EVS Translations can help their business, whether it’s through website translation, or the creation of multilingual product brochures, for example. We were able to provide a good overview of the kinds of solutions available to them with plenty of advice from our expert staff on the stand.

We were also displaying our very special collection of rare first edition dictionaries, which date back to the 17th century and form part of the EVS Museum. Our love of languages goes back centuries!

2. What were the highlights of conference for you?

For me, as Head of Marketing, it was great to plan the whole project. It was the first time that EVS Translations had been involved in such a huge exhibition, so to organize everything from the booth to who is coming, the materials, gifts, brochures—all the things you need for such a big event—was a great experience. It was a daunting task, but to see all the hard work come to fruition was a highlight for me.

It was great to be part of this huge event and meet many of the other companies that were represented there.

3. Did the EVS Translations team enjoy the experience?

Absolutely. To see all the other companies who were exhibiting and to meet clients and people interested in the solutions EVS Translations could offer was hugely enjoyable. There were a lot of opportunities to discuss the market with other like-minded professionals, so we were all glad to have taken part.

4. What’s on your ‘To do’ list back at head office?

We have some major projects coming up, so there is certainly a long ‘To do’ list! To begin with, we have our website relaunch. After the successful completion of the design phase, we’re now preparing the relaunch and to give all EVS Translations’ advertising materials a new look and feel. The feedback we’ve received from staff about the new website has been fantastic, so we’re looking forward to this very much.

Videos are another big project for 2016. These will be a great help for clients and businesses that need to understand in more detail the processes involved when we translate their materials and media. They will offer advice, tips and a more in-depth look at exactly how EVS Translations supports businesses around the globe.

5. What else is coming up on the EVS Translations event schedule?

2016 will be EVS Translations’ 25th anniversary! There will be plenty happening, so keep checking our blog for information about how we will be celebrating this major milestone. And after our success in Stuttgart, we will definitely consider a return to the Tekom Annual Conference next year.
