Between 14 and 16 October, the trade fair for language enthusiasts attracted around 10,000 visitors to the British capital. Alongside unconventional methods for learning new languages, there were over 60 events focused on the latest developments on the language market. Across the three days, this provided teachers and students, translators, interpreters and other professionals with a space to both gather and exchange information. EVS Translations was present at the trade fair with its human resources team from Germany and Bulgaria. In the career zone, potential employees could find out about the varied career opportunities at EVS Translations and establish an initial contact with the company.

The talk “Life After A Language Degree” by Managing Director Edward Vick captured the attention of language degree graduates in particular as, in addition to the classic occupation of translator, it mentioned a number of other positions offered by language service providers including project managers, translation engineers and proofreaders. For everyone who dreams of being a translator, the message was clear: “practice makes perfect!” This could involve translating your favorite book or the operating manual for your new computer.
