EVS Translations Bulgaria is starting the year with two new paid trainee programmes: one for trainee English translators, and the other – for trainee German translators.
2015 was especially fruitful for us as we conducted a successful English trainee programme as a part of our strategy for expansion of our team of in-house translators and proofreaders.
From about a hundred candidates that demonstrated their interest in the programme, we selected those three of them that performed best in the course of our selection procedure. These three young professionals went through a six-month training and got familiar with our company’s working procedures, so as to now become permanent employees of EVS Translations.
We plan to select three or four new trainees within this year’s programme for English trainee translators, which is the first paid trainee programme for translators in Bulgaria conducted in compliance with established international standards and based on EVS Translations’ successful experience with such kind of trainee programmes in Europe and the USA.
We chose 2016 for a start of our first trainee programme for young professionals with German to join our team.
In November, we presented our new trainee programmes before students and professors in a presentation that was held in Hall 2 of Sofia University’s Rectorate.
The training will take six months, and those who go through it successfully will have the opportunity to be employed in our company with a permanent employment contract.
EVS Translations Bulgaria’s trainee programmes are an excellent opportunity for everyone with a love of languages and want to prove and develop their knowledge and skills in translation. Trainees will have the opportunity to learn more about the translation services industry – one of the fastest growing industries on a global scale, and also to get familiar with the latest software solutions in this field.
No previous experience in translations is required, and lack of it will not hinder the successful completion of the trainee programme – love of language is a sufficiently strong motivation. As one of our most successful trainees in the last year and present junior translator in EVS Translations, Serafima Slavcheva, shared:

For me, this experience is extremely valuable, since I had no professional experience in translations before joining the programme, and this was a serious obstacle to my development.”
