Split across two stages – Main and Insight – the football industry get-together will kick off on 12 June 2019 at 8 a.m. with morning coffee. This will be the first networking opportunity of the day at the Spielmacher Conference held at the Hamburg Cruise Centre HafenCity.
Lectures on the Main Stage will range from social media engagement on Instagram to the benefits of having a clear brand identity and the future of football. The Insight Stage will also offer scope for discussions, including the battle for spectators between the various football leagues, the influence of big data on football clubs, and analogue and digital scouting opportunities. The programmes will be rounded off with the Spielmacher Aftershow Party.
The mere fact that an event by a German organiser, taking place in Germany, is being held solely in English highlights both the internationality and the internationalisation of the sports industry – and also the need for translations and language services. This demand comes partly from the organiser and partly from the participants – who come from all over the world – and the sponsors who have their advertising materials translated into English. At the same time, popular sport – especially football – is gaining ground in Asia. India is now on the radar, behind China.
Michael Reimer, a graduate in sports science turned Business Development Manager at EVS Translations, will be representing our company at the event and will be taking questions on the subject of specialist translations from all manner of companies from the sports industry. In particular demand at the moment are legal translations, financial translations, translations for software and digital projects, and marketing translations for social media. In addition to English, there is also a focus on Chinese and Arabic.
