The team at the EVS Translations fair stand are looking back on a trade fair full of interesting meetings, exciting presentations and inspirations. From October 24 to 26, approximately 4,300 participants met at the tekom conference and the tekom trade fair 2017 to discuss the latest developments in the field of technical communication. Despite the strong focus on software applications, EVS Translations also took part in the trade fair again this year. With the “in-house translation” principle, our presence at the trade fair set us apart from most of the participants – our most valuable capital: people; our service: professional translations done by people – not a platform to link freelancers.
Slight damage to the trade fair booth on the evening before the first day of the exhibition did not faze our team. Two weeks after the fair, we now take stock about what really happened:
- In-depth exchanges of information with market players and interesting discussions with business partners gained in the previous year
- Exciting workshops with tricky team exercises, which had to be solved with people from a variety of departments and business areas
- Fantastic networking events after “closing time”: The all-star tekom band provided great music and the third tekom “Doku Slam”, where slam poets strutted their stuff. It was a great atmosphere accompanies by many laughs.
The next tekom conference will take place between 13 and 15 November 2018 in Stuttgart.
In the meantime, we are delighted with our many new contacts and the translation projects that are coming to us over the next few weeks.
