The largest industry event for technical communication worldwide came to a successful end on November 10. Three days full of new contacts, information and inspiration are behind us.
In 2016, the event hit a new record with 4,500 participants and visitors from around the world – 300 more than at tekom 2015! This year, everything was focused around the core topic of Information 4.0 and further trends in this context. EVS Translations was one of the 165 national and international exhibitors presenting their products and services in the two halls.
Our employees bring the latest knowledge about translation memories, DTP and management of new challenges in the translation industry. Sharing information with experts from the respective specialist fields, such as localisation and translation, publishing solutions, technical illustration and terminology management, made the event a particularly valuable experience because not all technical communication is the same!
Our specialty is translation. However, there is a complex process behind the finished product. Our representatives at the booth were chosen so that there would be a suitable contact person for every visitor. Translation memory and CAT tool enthusiasts could speak with the translation technology department, while our vendor manager went on the search for strong partners to strengthen our in-house team for more rarely spoken languages in order to guarantee processes in line with the DIN ISO 17100:2015 and DIN ISO 9001:2015 standards. Our business development manager gave advice to companies with translation needs regarding individual solutions to their projects. CEO Edward Vick was also there on all three days to speak to interested companies on the latest developments in the translation industry. Those interested in working for EVS Translations can learn about career opportunities via the HR department.
