True to the motto ‘Bringing the World of Sports Together’, 18 conferences and seminars from the sporting industry are being held at once at the beginning of December in the Palexpo conference and trade fair centre in Geneva at the International Sports Convention (ISC). These include Football Coaching & E-Learning, Sports Events Tourism & Cities, Sports Sponsorship, Sports Integrity & Governance and Turf & Grass, which deals solely and exclusively handling turf. The two-day event will also include a 6,000 sqm exhibition, offering plenty of space and an opportunity to network.
Roughly 150 speakers from across the world are giving presentations on their specialist fields, including representatives of the largest sporting associations and media giants, such as BBC Sport, FIFA, Formula 1, Google/YouTube, IBM, NBA, The Asian Football Confederation and UEFA. One of the most cutting-edge trends in sporting events is fan engagement – both online and offline. Today’s sports fans are part of the marketing strategy of sports and sporting events worldwide and are themselves producers of online advertising content for their favourite team or sporting icon. At the same time, digital consumer electronics is finding its way into the real world, e.g. in the area of e-sports. A further focus of the event is gaining new sponsors and business partners, as well as collaboration with established brands.
The ISC brings together all players in the sporting industry: sports associations, country associations and governing bodies, in addition to suppliers, producers and a range of other organisations and companies.
