Sadism

Sadism originates from the French aristocrat, the Marquis de Sade, who spent over 30 years in prison or an asylum for sexual offenses including violence against women, incest, sodomy, poisoning with aphrodisiacs and having sex with minors. His most famous work The 120 Days of Sodom is a catalogue of sexual horrors systematically perpetuated by four male friends in an out-of-the-way medieval castle, convenient in that it has no attachment to the outward world.
